The amazing launch game Star Wars: Rogue Leader combines all the action of the Star Wars movies, amazing graphics and intense sound to make one hell of a Gamecube title.
Story
Basically the game follows the same plot as the three original Star Wars movies. Things like destroying the Death Star and defending against the Imperial Forces in the Battle of Hoth. You play as Luke Skywalker or Wedge Antilles.
GamePlay
The gameplay controls are very efficient and easy to get used to. Moving your craft around is very easy with the GC controller. It allows you to do many things during the gameplay such as: Speed Boost, Hard Brake, Targeting Computer, Cockpit View etc. During the missions there are a number of objectives that you must successfully accomplish to complete the mission. When you pass a mission it shows you what you have to improve on to get medals for your performance in the mission. These medals give you points which can be used to unlock bonus mission and bonus ships.
Graphics
Amazing!!! There is just no other way to describe the graphics in my mind. Very smooth no matter what is happening around you. Explosion and water effects look fantastic aswell as the vast variety of spacecraft available in the game. From the big imperial AT-ATs to the tiny Stormtroopers everything looks great.
Sound
What can I say, when you have the sound hooked up to a surround sound system like I do, there is no better way to experience the game. It sounds awesome even straight from the tv. I really like it when all of the Tie Fighter come zooming passed and make that cool sound
.
Explosions sound great and probably the thing that really completes the sound side of the game are the voices that are used in the game as they are straight from the movies and sound awesome.
Difficulty
It really wasnt that hard for me to complete the missions but trying to get the medals is another thing all together. It is bloody hard!!!!! It can get extremely frustrating as some of the levels are quite long but you have to keep trying them over and over again if you want to improve to get medals.
Age Range I would recommend this game for people aged 12 and upwards. Mainly because the controls may be to complex for anybody under that age.
